What is a podcast?
A podcast-- a portmanteau of "iPod" and "broadcast"-- is a pre-recorded audio file that fills many of the same rolls as talk radio used to in the 20th century. The range of topics that podcasts cover is endless; if you have an interest, there's a podcast for it. Furthermore, podcasting is also one of the most lucrative businesses to be in today, with a single episode of a popular podcast, like This American Life, raking in a minimum of $50,000.
In our podcast unit, we worked in pairs to create our own podcasts. We chose our own topics, which is why you see such diversity in the podcasts below. Take a listen-- we hope you enjoy!
